Act on the Election of Public Officials
Article 278 of the Act on the Election of Public Officials (Voting and Ballot Counting by an Electronic Organization) provides that the National Election Commission shall pursue computerized management of voting, ballot counting and other election-related affairs for their accurate and swift management.
In addition, the Rule on Management of the Election of Public Officials as delegated by the Act on the Election of Public Officials defines e-voting and ballot counting, and provides detailed procedures necessary for e-voting in a chapter titled "Special Cases Regarding E-Voting and Ballot Counting."
Laws Applying Mutatis Mutandis
Relevant provisions of the Act on the Election of Public Officials apply mutatis mutandis to voting and ballot counting concerning plebiscites under the management of the National Election Commission as well as elections of presidents of agricultural, fisheries and livestock cooperatives.
